The project
This set of ten chandeliers made of kiln formed glass and brass, intended for the St Hippolyte church in Thonon-les-Bains (France), is characterized by the visual lightness of its elements which, despite their large dimensions, allow the remarkable baroque decoration of the vaults to be clearly seen.
A contemporary design
Inspired by the ends of peacock feathers, the general lines of this creation take up their fluidity and flexibility.
The kiln formed glass elements, specially designed for this work, extend the movement of the brass arm beams which seem to radiate from the same stem.
Seen from below, the chandeliers appear to be nothing more than light, luminous glass crowns suspended above the bays.
This ensemble, although resolutely contemporary in its materials and aesthetics, blends elegantly with the masterful classicism of the decor and interior architecture of St Hippolyte.

St Hippolyte Church
Heritage monument – XIV th century
Dedicated to St Hippolyte, the church was built in the 14th century on the site of the primitive Roman church.
Completely rebuilt at the end of the 17th century, it is endowed with a remarkable baroque decoration. The vault, abundantly stuccoed in the Italian style, is the work of the Ticino stucco artists B. Pandolph and J. F. Silva.
Since 1992 St Hippolyte Church has been undergoing a thorough restoration which, once completed, will present it to the public in all its magnificence.
